Wests Tigers Head Coach Michael Maguire will turn to youth for his side's Round 22 clash against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles this Thursday as they look to bounce back from a last-start defeat against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

With captain Moses Mbye (hip flexor) and Life Member Robbie Farah (tibia) both ruled out of this week's game, Maguire has named 19-year-old rookie Tommy Talau to make his debuts in the centres while Jacob Liddle returns to the side at hooker.

The son of former Bulldogs centre Willie Talau, Tommy will become the 225th player to represent Wests Tigers and the third player to debut under Maguire in 2019.

Benji Marshall will captain Wests Tigers with Mbye unavailable to injury.

After recently inking a new deal with the club until the end of 2021, Liddle's inclusion at hooker is a seamless transition for Wests Tigers with the young rake featuring for the side on nine occasions already this season.

Elijah Taylor has been included on the bench as possible cover for Liddle, with Josh Reynolds — who is also capable of playing the position — named in the reserves.

Wests Tigers were forced in to another late change in the lead-up to Thursday's game with Luke Garner's one-game suspension upheld by the Judiciary.

Garner had originally been named in the back row pending his Dangerous Contact - Other charge, but was unsuccessful in getting the charge dropped on Tuesday night and was suspended for Thursday night's clash against the Sea Eagles.

His omission sees Chris Lawrence return to the starting side and Chris McQueen called on to the bench with Josh Reynolds and Sam McIntyre retained in the 19-man squad as reserves by Coach Maguire in the team updated on Wednesday.

For Manly, Coach Des Hasler will also see several changes forced upon him as his side look to bounce back from their defeat to the New Zealand Warriors last week.

Injuries to Brad Parker (knee) and Curtis Sironen (hamstring) see Brendan Elliott and Jack Gosiewski return to the starting side, while halfback Daly Cherry-Evans will play despite doubts around a knee complaint picked up across the Tasman.
