Wests Tigers 2020 NRL Draw

Wests Tigers Members and fans are the big winners with the release of the 2020 Telstra Premiership NRL Draw today with a number of blockbusters set for the year ahead.

Five of the six games played at the club’s suburban grounds will be played on Sunday afternoons in a positive result for families, while the club will once again take home games to Suncorp Stadium (Magic Round) and Tamworth in 2020 following successful results in both fixtures in 2019.

The annual Easter Monday clash against Parramatta will be a Wests Tigers home game at Bankwest Stadium for the first time — giving Members the first chance to secure their seats for what is always a blockbuster clash between the two sides.

Beginning the year on the road with a clash against St. George-Illawarra at WIN Stadium for the first time since 2008, Wests Tigers will then return home to Leichhardt Oval in Round 2 against the Newcastle Knights and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Round 3. Both home games are scheduled for Sunday afternoon in a big win for families, with the Bulldogs clash at Campbelltown the club’s best attended game at the venue in 2019.

Michael Maguire’s side are again on the road in Round 4 as they head to Auckland before returning home to Bankwest Stadium for the Easter Monday blockbuster against Parramatta — a Wests Tigers home game for the first time since 2016.

Trips away to the Gold Coast in Round 7 and then to Brisbane for Magic Round in Round 8 where Wests Tigers are again the home side, Wests Tigers will wrap up a three-week stretch on the road with a clash against the Canberra Raiders at Scully Park in Round 9 — the third straight year the club has taken a home game to the Tamworth ground.

South Sydney will then be the visitors at Leichhardt Oval for the first time since 2007, with another family-friendly Sunday afternoon fixture on the cards for fans.

Wrapping up the first half of the draw is another away trip — this time up to the Central Coast where the side will face Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Gosford for the first time since 2013.

Returning from the bye in Round 13, Wests Tigers will play a run of home and away games at Bankwest Stadium — facing the Eels away in Round 13 and the Rabbitohs away in Round 17 for what will be South Sydney’s first home game at the venue — while also taking on the Penrith Panthers (Round 14), St. George-Illawarra Dragons (Round 15) and Sydney Roosters (Round 18) in home games for the club.

Following away games against Melbourne in Round 16, Newcastle in Round 19 and Cronulla in Round 20, Wests Tigers next home game is a Sunday afternoon blockbuster against the Brisbane Broncos at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

Wests Tigers have played host to the Broncos twice on a Sunday at Campbelltown with strong crowd in excess of 13,000 both times and appear primed for another tight contest again following their thrilling last-minute win over the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium last year.

Celebrating with the fans in Brisbane!

After a trip down to the nation’s capital, Campbelltown will then see its third Sunday afternoon game in the same year since 2007 when Wests Tigers take on the Gold Coast Titans — a fixture that sold out when two sides last met there in 2016.

Wests Tigers will then play their seventh game at Bankwest Stadium in Round 24 when they take on the Bulldogs in an away game for the club, before returning to Leichhardt Oval for the final game of the regular season against the North Queensland Cowboys.

Wests Tigers have won their past eight games against the Cowboys at Leichhardt Oval and will close out the regular season at the suburban ground for the sixth time in seven years.
