NRL Fantasy winners & losers: Round 13

Kalyn Ponga was the star in a Fantasy week where there were some very big and some very poor scores from popular players and success hinged on navigating through the minefield.

Winners

Ponga was electric in a huge win over the Wests Tigers, notching 103 with two tries, two assists and 240 metres.

Eels playmaker Dylan Brown thrived in the wet, scoring and setting up his side's only two tries on the way to 87; he is now the third-best half in Fantasy by average and total points behind only Nathan Cleary (another big score this week with 78) and Daly Cherry-Evans (57).

Cam McInnes (88) was back to his high scoring ways to lead the way among likely Fantasy captains, just ahead of Cleary and Payne Haas (also 78).

Get Caught Up: Round 13

Luciano Leilua (81) keeps getting it done despite his side's big loss to the Knights, Siosiua Taukeiaho (80) is just about guaranteed a monster game every time Jared Waerea-Hargreaves doesn't play, and Zac Lomax (75) bounced back from his first poor score of the year with his best score.

The more than 8 per cent of coaches who are sitting on Manly rookie Haumole Olakau'atu would have enjoyed his tackle bust-laden 78 while Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (76), Sitili Tupouniua (75), the returning AJ Brimson (73) and Kenny Bromwich (71) rounded out the 70+ scores.

Captain courageous Proctor taps it back in for Kelly

Jamal Fogarty (68) produced another great score, David Fifita (65) produced the goods in his injury comeback, Jazz Tevaga (61 in 50 minutes) would be one of the best players in Fantasy if he got a few more minutes, and Nat Butcher (58) is getting plenty of chances thanks to the Roosters' injury toll.

Latrell Mitchell (53) now has two pretty good scores back-to-back.

Losers

James Tedesco scored just 20, despite playing the full 80 minutes and his team winning, going the entire game without a tackle break for the first time this year. It was doubly bad news for the thousands of coaches who stuck with him as captain.

Minutes were a problem for a few popular Fantasy players though. The return of Jake Granville was awful news for Reece Robson owners, with the Cowboys hooker never brought back after being subbed off inside half an hour and finishing with 16.

Raiders hooker Tom Starling (22) was left on the bench for 50 minutes despite his impressive performances of late and his side quickly falling 24-0 behind.

Whether it was the return of David Fifita or something else, Pat Carrigan (41) spent just 43 minutes on the field against the Rabbitohs and Moeaki Fotuaika (46) was left on the bench until very late against the Cowboys.

Another Dylan Brown dummy, another Eels try

Bulldogs lock Luke Thompson (27) didn't reach any great heights, Damien Cook (51) was off the boil yet again and the Sunday monsoon was bad news for in-form Eels props Junior Paulo (45) and Reagan Campbell-Gillard (44) and fullback Clint Gutherson (24). The arrival of Blake Green may be bad news for Mitchell Pearce (36) owners.
