Wests Tigers hooker Jacob Liddle has spoken about his decision to re-sign with the club for a further two seasons.

A Wyong Roos junior, Liddle will remain in Wests Tigers colours until at least the end of the 2023 NRL season.

“It means the world to re-sign,” Liddle said.

“I love this club and the direction we’re heading in.

“I always wanted to re-sign. I’ve been at this club seven years now and love everything about it — the fanbase and the people.”

Having struggled with knee injuries across his career, Liddle is grateful for Wests Tigers supporting him throughout the journey and feels the need to repay the club.

“I’ve had a rough couple of years. I’m hoping to give lots back to the club and build the next couple of years,” he said.

“It’s great that the club has stuck by me the whole way — it means everything to me.

“It’s been good to stay injury-free this season. That was one of the things I wanted to achieve — to stay on the field.”

Wests Tigers will be aiming for consecutive wins when they face Penrith Panthers at Leichhardt Oval on Friday night.

“We’re going to have to bring our A-game and turn up. I think if we can do that we can get the win,” Liddle said.

“A back-to-back win would really build our confidence. We need to turn up with the right attitude.”
