Vale Brian Staunton

Wests Tigers would like to extend its condolences to the family of Brian Staunton following his recent passing.

A former Balmain Tigers halfback, Staunton played for the Tigers across four seasons from 1955 after three years with Manly.

The crafty playmaker captained Balmain to the 1956 Grand Final, and although St George claimed an 18-12 victory, Staunton was a standout player as he crossed for two tries in the decider.

The thoughts of all at Wests Tigers are with Brian's family and friends at this time.
