Club Statement: Crowd Behaviour

Zero tolerance policy for offensive crowd behaviour

The club would like to reaffirm its stance on offensive crowd behaviour following an incident at Suncorp Stadium during Sunday’s Magic Round game against North Queensland Cowboys.

Vulgar and offensive comments were directed at Wests Tigers halfback Jackson Hastings as he attempted a side-line conversion in the first half of the match.  Those responsible were identified and detained by police and the matter is now closed.

As a club we feel compelled to emphasise the importance of providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all players and fans at all NRL games.  As such we will continue to enforce a zero-tolerance policy for offensive behaviour at Wests Tigers home games.

Furthermore, we commend Jackson Hastings on the way he handled the incident in Brisbane.

Acknowledgement of Country
