Benji launches 2023 Membership

Benji Marshall has helped launch Wests Tigers 2023 Membership campaign, leading the narrative in an evocative club video.

Benji's call to 'show your stripes'

The club great talks about the proud history of Wests Tigers, and points to a bright future, calling on members to ‘show your stripes’.

The feature video neatly ties together the old with the new. Filmed at the club’s ultra-modern Centre of Excellence, Marshall gives two emerging players a brief lesson about the club's history

With Botille Vette-Welsh and Justin Matamua watching on intently, and ‘that pass’ to Pat Richards playing on the big screen, Marshall talks about his vision for Wests Tigers.

“Early on, we tasted success, the kind of success we need to return to,” says the 2005 premiership winner.

Also in the clip, representing the ‘future’, are two young members, Fiona Ellender and Charlie Gage.

Marshall explains the need to “respect the past and work hard in the present, for success in the future”.

The video is a quality production with emotive imagery and powerful messaging. While its very purpose is to engage with and influence the audience - both current and prospective members - it does so in a way that acknowledges the truth.

After a disappointing 2022 campaign, and ahead of his first season as assistant coach, Marshall calls on everyone involved with the club, to remain positive.

“We have to continue to show up, no matter how hard it may get, because that’s who we are,” he says.

Adding, “Whether you have been with us from day one or joined along the way, your role is more important now than ever.

We are in this together."
