Another big weekend for Wests Tigers pathways teams with our Under 16s in a grand final, four games in Camden on Saturday and a triple-header at Lidcombe on Sunday.
Best of luck to our Macarthur Wests Tigers Under 16s team who are playing the Central Coast Roosters in the Grand Final of the Andrew Johns Cup.
If you can't get to the game, you can download the app and watch it live on NSWRL TV.
This team lost just one game in the regular season before defeating the Newcastle-Maitland Region Knights 14-6 in Singleton last weekend to book a place in the decider.
Wests Magpies are also going great guns sitting top-of-ladder in the Harold Matthews Cup with six wins from six games. It should be a great contest in Camden on Saturday against the in-form Roosters who have won five from six.
Wests SG Ball team faces a tough assignment, also playing the Roosters, who are top-of-the-ladder with seven wins from seven games. Our Under 19s are boosted by the return of hooker Tallyn Da Silva as they push for a place in the finals.
Also at Kirkham Oval on Saturday are our two junior women’s teams up against the Rabbitohs in the Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale Cup competitions.
A big day on Sunday at Lidcombe Oval with Balmain Under 16s development team and our Jersey Flegg team taking on the Sharks, before the Knock On Effect NSW Cup match.
It’s a strong looking Magpies team in the NSW Cup with five-eighth Latu Fainu playing his first game of the season against the Newtown Jets.
Asu Kepaoa is also in the Magpies starting side while Brent Naden will make his long-awaited return on the bench.

Our focus will again be on us delivering to our standards to build pressure on the opposition.
We need to be strong on yardage carries from our outside backs as they are very sharp through the ruck with the likes of hooker Jayden Berrell and Samuel Healey once they get momentum.
Looking forward to having our first home game at Lidcombe Oval and of course playing for the Tom Raudonikis Cup.

We learnt some hard lessons in last week's game and we are looking to seek improvements this week on areas we need to fix.
We have quite a few players making their debut this week, and we’re looking forward to seeing what they have to offer. Overall, it should be a good contest this week against a good team.

Round 8 presents our biggest challenge so far this season. Firstly, we face the team on the top of the ladder and secondly, we need to stay in touch with the top 6 to keep our semi final hopes alive.
After last week’s setback we’re ready to bounce back with a bigger and better performance.

We’re excited to play our last home game for the year alongside the Lisa Fiaola and Wests Magpies sides at Kirkham Oval and will look to bounce back from our loss last week against a good Bulldogs side.
Souths are in a similar position to us on the ladder, and will also be looking to finish the season strongly. The week’s preparation has been good with renewed focus on our yardage sets and completions. If we can address our errors and continue to defend well, we know we can put in a good performance.

The team have bounced back well this week with good energy at training and have grown in confidence from their game last week.
There is true belief in the team and a good performance against the Rabbitohs will us consolidate a spot in the top six.
Being consistent and playing the whole 60 minutes will be our focus. The players know they must also improve their ball retention and decision making in attack, as well as doing all the ‘one percenters’ in defence.
Andrew Johns Cup (U/16s) - GRAND FINAL
Macarthur Wests Tigers vs Central Coast Roosters
Coach – Harrison Fox
This Sunday we are in the Andrew Johns Cup Grand Final against a tough Central Coast team. The boys are aware of the challenges of playing in enemy territory and have trained well all week.
Our one and only goal is to win the game and become the first team to win a premiership for the Macarthur Wests Tigers.
