Match Report: NSW Cup Round 5 vs Bears

Western Suburbs Magpies have suffered a 42-16 defeat to the Bears in Round 5 of the Knock On Effect NSW Cup at North Sydney Oval.

The Bears got off to a hot start and led 16-nil before a try to Magpies centre Declan Casey made it 16-6 at the break.

The home side started the second half in similar fashion to the first with prop Nelson Asofa Solomona scoring one of three unanswered tries to stretch their lead out to 32-6.

The Magpies showed plenty of effort in the second half with Solomon Alaimalo and Josh Feledy both finding the line in the eight-tries-to-two loss.

Next up for Aaron Payne’s men is contest against the Dragons at Lidcombe Oval on Saturday.
