Match Report: NSW Cup Round 6 vs Dragons

Wests Magpies suffered a 24-18 loss to St George Illawarra Dragons on Saturday in Round 6 of the Knock On Effect NSW Cup.

The Dragons led 14-6 at half time at Lidcombe Oval with both teams crossing twice in the second half.

The visitors extended their lead 15 minutes after the break when highly rated centre Savelio Tamale found the line before Magpies hooker James Valevatu went over the keep the home side well in the contest.

Former Magpies forward Tom Freebairn then found the line to restore a 12-point advantage for the visitors.

The Magpies fought hard throughout and Josh Feledy’s try with seven minutes remaining set up a thrilling finish to the game, only for the Red V to hold on to a six-point advantage.
