Wests Tigers are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Balmain Tigers Player #667, Brian Lockwood.

The English-born forward, aged 78, passed away in Wakefield on Thursday after a lengthy battle with illness.

Brian played 46 first grade games for the Tigers between 1975-1977, after spending one season with the Bulldogs.

A gifted ball-playing forward, Lockwood scored two tries in his three seasons at the Tigers and is fondly remembered for his match-winning flick pass to Neil Pringle in the 1976 AMCO Cup final.

One of the best English imports to play in Australia, Brian represented England and Great Britain in 19 Tests.

Wests Tigers offer our sincere condolences to Brian’s wife Anne, his family, and his many friends.
