Report: NRL Round 10 vs Storm

Wests Tigers have fallen to a 64-0 defeat to the Storm in Round 10 at AAMI Park.

After trailing 34-0 at half-time, Wests Tigers couldn’t claw themselves into the contest, as Melbourne proved too classy from start to finish.

Ryan Papenhuyzen produced an outstanding individual try to score the first points of the match after just three minutes, and the fullback grabbed a second shortly after when he backed up a Xavier Coates line-break.

The Storm then managed to clean up a Wests Tigers dropout, as Papenhuyzen capitalised for his third of the afternoon.

Front-rower Josh King was next to score for the Storm, with Jahrome Hughes’ try extending the big Melbourne lead just three minutes later.

Nick Meaney then picked up a loose ball in the 33rd minute to race away, with Papenhuyzen’s conversion making it 34-0 at half-time.

A short-side play produced a fourth try for Papenhuyzen early in the second half, before Nelson Asofa-Solomona crashed over for the Storm’s eighth four-pointer of the match.

Tongan international Eli Katoa then scored off a Cameron Munster bust in the 58th minute and minutes later, it was the Queensland No.6 who dummied and went himself for another Melbourne try.

It was hooker Bronson Garlick who grabbed the final try of the afternoon, with Papenhuyzen’s conversion making it 64-0 at full-time in Round 10.

Storm 64 (Papenhuyzen 4, King, Hughes, Meaney, Asofa-Solomona, Katoa, Munster, Garlick tries; Papenhuyzen 10/11 goals) defeated Wests Tigers 0 at AAMI Park.
