Heath Mason extended and upgraded to Top 30

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that Heath Mason has extended his stay with the club until the end of the 2026 season and will be upgraded to the NRL Top 30 effective immediately.

The new deal is a reward for Mason’s continued progression and growth since emerging from the Wests Tigers Pathways system last season.

The versatile 20-year-old has featured in multiple positions at NRL level since making his debut in 2024 and is a valued member of the squad.

Mason has scored two tries in his 10 NRL appearances to date and his electric footwork and pace are always a handful for opposition defences. He also averages 135 running metres in his three NRL appearances in 2025.

The Thirlmere-Tahmoor Roosters junior is pleased to remain with Wests Tigers into the future.

“I love this club and am so happy to be here for another year,” said Mason.

I have played all my juniors in the Pathways system at Wests Tigers and can't wait to keep growing and developing as a player here.

A graduate of the club’s Pathways program, the local junior represented the Western Suburbs Magpies in the Harold Matthews Cup and SG Ball Cup competitions, before progressing to the Jersey Flegg Cup, Knock On Effect NSW Cup, and finally, NRL setups.

Mason was the starting five-eighth in the Magpies’ 2022 Harold Matthews Cup premiership win.

A former student at St Gregory’s College, Campbelltown, Heath captained the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges side to victory at the Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League National Championships in 2023.

He also previously represented the NSW City U/16’s and U/18’s teams.

Beginning the 2024 campaign playing SG Ball Cup, he made a rapid rise to the top grade, before making his NRL debut in the Round 15 win over the Gold Coast Titans.

NRL Head Coach Benji Marshall is delighted to see the young star commit to Wests Tigers.

“Heath has earnt this upgrade and extension. It is wonderful to see the Pathways system producing athletes such as Heath,” said Marshall.

“He is a great kid from a great family, and we look forward to seeing him develop further as a footballer into 2026.”
