Wests Tigers are proud to announce the appointment of Charmain Steventon as the club’s new Head of Women’s Football, marking a significant milestone in the club’s commitment to the growth and success of its women’s football program.

Charmain is no stranger to elite performance environments, having carved out an impressive rugby career that saw her represent Australia at the highest level. A dual international, she made her debut for the Australian Sevens team in 2000, followed by her first cap for the Wallaroos XVs in 2001 against England, earning Wallaroos Cap #65. She went on to represent her country at the 2002 Rugby XVs World Cup in Spain, before concluding a decorated playing career with eight seasons at West Harbour, where she won five premierships and featured in six consecutive grand finals between 1999 and 2005. Charmain also represented the NSW Waratahs and was recently honoured with Hall of Fame Cap #62, having been inducted into the NSW Waratahs Hall of Fame in 2024.
Off the field, Charmain brings over 20 years of corporate leadership experience, having held senior roles at organisations including Toyota, Westpac, Finsure and St.George. Since joining Wests Tigers, she has led the club’s people strategy as Head of People & Culture, where her leadership has been instrumental in strengthening the club’s values-driven culture.
Charmain also brings key governance experience through her previous tenure on the West Harbour Board of Directors (2022–2024).
In her newly created role as Head of Women’s Football, Charmain will lead all facets of the club’s female football operations, ensuring a holistic approach to performance, wellbeing, and development for Wests Tigers’ female athletes.

“I’m delighted that Wests Tigers have established an executive role dedicated to Women’s football for the first time. This is a significant and progressive step that reflects the club’s genuine commitment to investing in the women’s program.”
