Match Report: NSW Women's Premiership Round 7 vs St George

Wests Tigers produced a strong second-half performance to claim a 34-10 victory over St George in Round 7 of the Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership at Lidcombe Oval.

The Dragons struck first in the 3rd minute through fullback Dayna Stevens, who dummied and powered her way to the line before converting her own try.

The Tigers responded in the 10th minute when Harmony Crichton, returning from an ACL injury, shifted the ball to winger Chloe Boston, who crossed in the corner.

Soon after, Taylor Mapusua produced a spectacular catch and offload to put Joy Levy over for another four-pointer.

St George hit back in the 20th minute through five-eighth Shaye Shipton, but hooker Salma Nour combined with second-rower Katalina Vave to give Wests Tigers a 14-10 lead at half-time.

The Tigers dominated after the break.

Vave turned provider in the 57th minute, offloading for fullback Evie McGrath to score.

Five minutes later, a slick right-side shift saw Mapusua grab a try of her own, before McGrath crossed twice more; first backing up a line-break from Aaliyah Bula, then racing 45 metres down the left sideline to complete her hat-trick.

The final whistle sealed a convincing 34-10 win for the Tigers, highlighted by McGrath’s stunning hat-trick.

Wests Tigers 34 (McGrath 3, Boston, Levy, Vave, Mapusua tries; Bamblett 3/7 goals) defeated St George 10 (Stevens, Shipton tries; Stevens 1/2 goals) at Lidcombe Oval.
