Luamanu-Leiataua upgraded and extended

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that teenage forward Lucyannah Luamanu-Leiataua has been upgraded to the NRLW Top 24 squad effective immediately and has signed a contract extension through until the end of the 2027 season.

18-year-old Luamanu-Leiataua, who has featured in four NRLW games to date, is capable of playing as both an edge and middle forward.

A Wests Tigers junior from the Eagle Vale St Andrews club, ‘Lucy’ has progressed through every female Pathways grade at the club.

The young star has impressed plenty in her time in the top grade to begin her NRLW career and is pleased to extend her time at Wests Tigers.

“This club has given me so many opportunities, teammates that have turned into family and it’s given me this fiery passion that I feel for this game,” said Luamanu-Leiataua.

“Being upgraded is an honour; an honour that I’m proud to have, and I’ll keep working hard, week in and week out.

Head of Women's Football Charmain Steventon has been impressed by Luamanu-Leiataua’s impact on the squad since making her debut against the Knights at NRLW Magic Round.

“We've been really pleased with how Lucy has transitioned into the NRLW setup,” said Steventon.

She's the perfect example of a young player progressing through our Pathways system and going on to add to our NRLW squad.
