Report: NSW Women’s Premiership Round 9 vs Mounties

Wests Tigers have fallen to a 36-10 defeat to Mounties at Aubrey Keech Reserve in Round 9 of the Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership.

After taking a heavy deficit into the half-time break, an improved second half restored some respectability for the visitors, however Mounties ultimately proved too classy on the day.

The home side opened the scoring after eight minutes through winger Charis Toli, when she went racing down the touchline after a sweet cutout ball from back-rower Amelia Pasikala.

Relna Wuruki-Hosea crossed just three minutes later for Mounties, before Tyler Pelligra darted from dummy half to bring the scoreline out to 16-0 after just 18 minutes.

Chelsea Savill though, ensured Pelligra wouldn’t be the only try-scoring dummy half in the match, as the young hooker got Wests Tigers on the board in the 20th minute.

Pasikala then pounced on a loose ball in the in-goal though to ensure Mounties took a 20-6 lead into half-time.

Toli went on to grab two further second-half tries in securing her hat-trick for the the team in yellow and back, before Wests Tigers scored through Tiana-Lee Thorne off the back of an outstanding run from centre Darcy Eade.

Siulolo Richter’s late try and Brielle Luccitti’s conversion were to be the final points of the afternoon, with Mounties emerging 30-10 victors at Aubrey Keech Reserve.

Mounties 30 (Toli 3, Wuruki-Hosea, Pelligra, Pasikala, Richter tries; Luccitti 4/7 goals) defeated Wests Tigers 10 (Savill, Thorne tries; Bamblett 1/2 goals) at Aubrey Keech Reserve
