Monumental May takes honours in first season at Wests Tigers

After it was announced that Terrell May would be joining the Club in November, Wests Tigers Members and fans were immediately excited to see the impact the front-rower would bring in the 2025 season.

May would go on to exceed all expectations, establishing himself as one of the most influential and consistent middle forwards in the competition.

After a dominant first season at Concord, the Samoan international was awarded the 2025 Kelly-Barnes Medal.

May featured in all 24 matches for Wests Tigers in 2025, recording 3,984 metres (an average of 166 metres per match) and 1,328 post-contact metres.

May also posted 1,023 tackles (second in the NRL) at an efficiency of 97% and made 66 offloads.

His relentless work-rate in both attack and defence over the course of the season was unprecedented, as was his ability to hit the line and offload.

May ranked first in offloads amongst forwards during the regular season, with his almost-effortless ability to create second-phase play proving invaluable at times over the course of the campaign.

Such was his impact, May received a nomination for the Dally M Prop of the Year in recognition of his outstanding 2025 campaign.

Capping off a remarkable year, May was named in Toa Samoa’s squad for the upcoming Pacific Championships, where he will line up alongside brother, Taylan.

Representative honours are a fitting reward for an exceptional season, with May given an opportunity to once again wear the blue jersey of Samoa with pride.

What made May’s first season at Wests Tigers so impressive was not only the numbers, but the impact he provided to his teammates.

NRL Head Coach, Benji Marshall praised May throughout the season as a “great performer with impact on and off the field”, while other squad members regularly pointed to his presence as a confidence-builder.

With his Kelly-Barnes Medal in hand, the prop is set to lead the pack into 2026 as one of the competition’s premier middle forwards.

May’s combination of size, power, offloading ability and defensive steel ensures the 26-year-old will be a cornerstone of the Wests Tigers forward pack for years to come.
