Pathways standouts acknowledged at Gala Awards

Players from the Western Suburbs Magpies NSW Cup team, Wests Tigers Jersey Flegg (Men’s U21s) and Wests Tigers NSW Women’s Premiership have been acknowledged for their achievements over the course of the 2025 campaign.

For the Magpies, powerful winger Izaac Tu’itupou was a clear standout.

He took home the Magpies’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player Awards, off the back of a season where he also made his Wests Tigers NRL debut.

Tu’itupou’s damaging backfield carries and quality finishing ability led to him grabbing 13 tries in 21 games for Wests, while making 17 line breaks and 57 tackle breaks along the way.

In the NSW Women’s Premiership, winger Taylor Mapusua was awarded Player of the Year.

A former Roosters and Dragons NRLW player, Mapusua’s experience, consistency and skill made her an asset to the young side.

Second-rower Katalina Vave was named Women’s Premiership Players’ Player after excelling over the course of the campaign.

Vave scored two tries this season, to go with her consistently destructive line-breaking ability.

For the Wests Tigers Jersey Flegg side, Josese Lanyon was named Player of the Year.

Lanyon – a hooker/lock – had a breakout season in 2025, scoring seven tries and proving a handful with every carry.

Solomone Saukuru was named the Jersey Flegg Players’ Player, with the powerful runner making a successful transition into the second-row mid-season.

His form has been rewarded with selection in the Fiji Bati Pacific Championships squad.

Wests Tigers congratulates all its Pathways award winners and are proud of the work that has been undertaken across the Club to develop the next generation of Wests Tigers in the NRL and NRLW.
