The Balmain Tigers will take on the Western Suburbs Magpies in Round 4 of the UNE Harold Matthews Cup this Saturday as part of Wests Tigers Club Day.
It will be the third fixture of the day at Kirkham Oval, with several Wests Tigers Pathways teams in action.
The Tigers were gallant in defeat in Round 3 against Parramatta, with Matteo Reupena-Dunn delivering a standout performance in the side’s 22-8 loss to the ladder leaders.
After initially going down by 10 points, the Tigers clawed their way back with a try either side of half-time from Reupena-Dunn and Zac Bechara, keeping the pressure on Parramatta. While they were unable to maintain that momentum in the latter stages of the second half, the Tigers will look to build on those promising patches in this weekend’s match.
Head Coach, Andrew Kazzi has brought Maleko Mateni and James Kerr into the starting backline with an unchanged forward pack. Levi Ellis is set to captain what will be an important match for both teams as they look to kick-start their seasons.
