The Wests Tigers are saddened by the loss of Paul ‘Fletch’ Fletcher, who passed away on Sunday.
A loyal servant to the rugby league community in the Inner West and surrounds, Paul was a much-loved figure who contributed significantly to the growth and development of the game at various levels.
Fletcher served as an Assistant Coach at the Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers from 2005-2007, before becoming Head Coach from 2008-2012 – taking the team to the semi-finals throughout his tenure, in addition to two grand final appearances.
Fletcher would then go on to serve as Head Coach of the Western Suburbs Magpies NSW Cup side for several years, working closely with the NRL program led by Mick Potter and Tim Sheens respectively.
A highly respected figure in rugby league in NSW, Fletcher’s contribution to the Club will be fondly remembered.
The Wests Tigers would like to extend its condolences to the Fletcher family during this difficult time.
A funeral service honouring Paul’s life will be held on Friday, 20 March at Camellia Chapel, Macquarie Park starting at 11.30am.
