Apps named in NSW Women’s Squad

Wests Tigers congratulate second rower, Kezie Apps who has been selected in the NSW State of Origin squad.

Westpac NSW Blues Women’s Coach, John Strange announced the 22-player lineup at Sydney’s Opera House today ahead of their match against Queensland at McDonald Jones Stadium on Thursday, 30 April.

The opening game will be the only match of this year's series to be played south of the border, with the next two fixtures in Brisbane and the Gold Coast respectively.

Apps – NRLW Wests Tiger #11 – has been a part of the Blues’ five Origin series victories and will be looking to add a sixth to her resume.

Apps has made it clear that she thinks her side can get the clean sweep that they missed out on last year.

"We were very disappointed in Game 3 last year, so we are extremely motivated," Apps said.

"We wanted to obviously take out all three games, but it didn't go that way, so that is still a sore spot for us.

“We won the series, but that’s not how we wanted to finish our campaign ... and definitely, that's our goal now, to go back-to-back but also to get the Blue wash.”
