The Wests Tigers are excited to announce the signing of Tyla Amiatu and Harmony Kautai on Supplementary Contracts for the 2026 NRLW season.
Kautai joins the Wests Tigers following her time with the Hurricanes Poua in Super Rugby Aupiki.
The former Black Ferns XV representative also brings valuable experience from New Zealand’s Farah Palmer Cup, where she has spent five years representing Hawke’s Bay and Wellington.
Kautai is excited about the opportunity to take her first step into rugby league, having moved to Australia for a chance to pull on the orange, black and white.
“It’s awesome to be a part of the Tigers, and it’s been a great pre-season,” Kautai said.
“When I got the opportunity to come over on a train and trial, I packed up everything back home in New Zealand and moved to Sydney a week and a half later.
“This team, this environment, the culture, I’ve been in a lot of different teams, and this is honestly one of the best. I was immediately welcomed, and I’ve learned a lot from across the group and working under Sandy.
“This is my first season in an NRLW system, and I’m really looking forward to testing myself and doing whatever’s needed for this team.”
Amiatu joins the Tigers with valuable NRLW experience, having been signed with Parramatta over the past three seasons.
The prop has previously played Tarsha Gale Cup for St George Dragons and NSW Women’s Premiership for Wentworthville Magpies.
“I’m really grateful for the opportunity the Wests Tigers have given me,” Amiatu said.
“I’m excited to get stuck in, keep improving my game, and contribute however I can this season.
“Being part of a new environment has really motivated me, and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.”
Supplementary Contracts are a recently introduced NRLW roster category that provide additional depth beyond a Club’s Top 24. Squads are permitted two Supplementary Players in 2026, increasing to three in 2027.
Wests Tigers NRLW Head Coach, Craig Sandercock said both players had impressed during the pre-season and would add valuable depth to the squad.
“Tyla and Harmony have both come in with really strong attitudes and have trained well throughout the pre-season,” Sandercock said.
“They’ve added a competitive energy to the squad that only helps to drive us forward. We’re excited about what they can bring as they continue to develop in our program.”
