Three outstanding Wests Tigers players have been named in the NRLW Team of the Year for 2026.
Half-back Raecene McGregor, second-rower Shaylee Bent, and prop Sarah Togatuki were named as the best players in their positions in the honorary team at the Dally M Awards in Sydney on Wednesday night.
McGregor also finished a narrow second to NRLW Dally M Player of the Year, Tamika Upton.
Earlier, highly respected Wests Tigers second-rower Kezie Apps was rewarded for her outstanding leadership by being named the NRLW Captain of the Year.
New Coach Craig Sandercock was also a nominee for the NRLW Coach of the Year award.
A three-time NRLW premiership winner, McGregor joined the Wests Tigers this year after three seasons at the St George Illawarra Dragons.
A former NSW Women’s Premiership player with the Tigers, McGregor returned to Concord as part of the major NRLW program rebuild under Sandercock.
It proved to be a masterstroke with McGregor playing a dominant role as the Tigers made the NRLW finals for the first time since entering the competition in 2023.
Her efforts saw her win the Wests Tigers NRLW Player of the Year Award.
McGregor’s experience, game knowledge, and leadership proved invaluable in leading the team’s attack where she had 11 try assists in 12 games.
An Australian and NSW representative, Bent enjoyed a stellar season in her first year with the Wests Tigers in the NRLW.
Bent created plenty of havoc on the edge for the Tigers where she amassed five-line breaks and three-line break assists for an average 115 run metres in her 12 games. She also crossed for three tries.
Her outstanding performances saw her win the Wests Tigers NRLW Players’ Player award. She also finished a close second behind McGregor for the club’s Player of the Year award.
Bent, who has played 63 matches in the NRLW since her debut in 2019, was also named in the RLPA’s 2026 Players’ Dream Team.
Powerful prop Sarah Togatuki has also enjoyed another fine season with the Tigers.
A three-time winner of the Wests Tigers NRLW Player of the Year, Togatuki was again a major driving force in the pack with her strong carries and hard running.
In her 12 games this season, Togatuki made an incredible 28 tackle breaks as well as almost 12 hit ups per game and 134 running metres.
She also made 11 offloads and 255 tackles for a tackle efficiency rate of 95 per cent.
