Lutu earns selection for Fiji

Wests Tigers NRLW five-eighth Losana Lutu has been named in the Fiji Bulikula’s squad for the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.

It follows an impressive season from the 22-year-old, in which she played in nine of the Tigers' 12 matches enroute to their maiden finals berth, recording two tries, three assists and 19 tackle breaks.

A familiar face at Concord, Lutu joined the Tigers ahead of their inaugural NRLW campaign in 2023 and has since played 26 games for the Club.

She went on to earn selection in Fiji’s 2024 Pacific Championships squad, steering the ship at number seven against the Cook Islands and Samoa.

Lutu will make history at the tournament when she features in the Fiji Bulikula’s first Rugby League World Cup.

Wests Tigers NRLW Head Coach Craig Sandercock has said her selection was well deserved.

“Losana had a great season for us. She’s been an invaluable part of our halves and has really improved her game,” Sandercock said.

“She’s worked hard, taken on responsibility, and stepped up where needed. She fully deserves the opportunity to represent Fiji. I’m really proud of her.”

Fiji Bulikula kick off their 2026 World Cup campaign on Sunday 18 October against the New Zealand Kiwi Ferns at McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle. Kick-off 1.50pm.
