Butler joins Wests Tigers on three-year deal

The Wests Tigers are excited to confirm the signing of NRLW premiership-winning prop Rima Butler on a three-year deal until the end of 2029.

A four-time Grand Finalist and two-time NRLW Premiership winner, including with the Roosters this season, Butler brings a wealth of experience to Craig Sandercock’s squad.

Butler has represented the Australian Jillaroos, NSW Blues and Māori All Stars, winning the 2025 Pacific Championships with Australia and sweeping the 2026 Origin series with NSW.

Having reached the Grand Final with all three of her previous clubs (Parramatta, Newcastle, Sydney Roosters), Butler brings valuable leadership and knowledge to a playing group striving for success.

A Minto Cobras junior raised in South West Sydney, Butler will be pulling on the orange, black and white to represent her local NRLW Club.

“Growing up in Minto, it means the world to be joining the Wests Tigers and being part of what’s going on there," Butler said.

"I'm already excited to get back out there in the off-season and get to work with Sandy and the girls.

“The Club’s going in such a great direction and I’m keen to go hard and build on the team’s momentum.”

Sandercock said the signing of one of the game's best props is a huge boost for the squad.

“Obviously, Rima’s one of the premier front-rowers in the game, so to add her to our pack is exciting,” he said.

“She’s someone who has done it all at this level. Rima’s won premierships, played State of Origin and represented Australia.

"To have a player of Rima’s calibre will bring a lot to our squad. I’m really looking forward to seeing what she’ll bring on and off the field.”
