Mick Potter is confident Wests Tigers have the right balance of experience and enthusiasm in their coaching ranks in 2013.

Potters two-year appointment as NRL Head Coach marks a fresh beginning for Wests Tigers. He was named the Super League Coach of the Year in 2012 with Bradford after previous stints with Catalans and St Helens.

Supporting Potter is NRL Assistant Coaches Steve Georgallis and Royce Simmons, whose experience and wealth of knowledge will be invaluable.

Georgallis held the same role last season in first year at the Club after being Head Coach of Penrith in 2011.

Simmons returns to his role as NRL Assistant Coach following two years as St Helens Coach. Prior to his departure, Simmons held the same position at Wests Tigers from 2001 to 2010.

Playing a support role to Potter is Paul Fletcher, coach of the newly formed Wests Tigers NSW Cup side. Fletcher guided Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers to two NSW Cup grand finals. He will be assisted by former grade players Joe Thomas and Jason Williams.

Thomas was an Assistant Coach under Phil Gould at the Sydney Roosters in 19990 and was the reserve grade coach in 1996-97.

Williams coached the Bulldogs to an SG Ball premiership in 2009 and led Western Suburbs Magpies to the SG Ball minor premiership two years later. He took over the NSW Cup coaching job for the Magpies midway through last season.

Premiership winning NYC Coach Todd Payten again has the responsibility of nurturing the abundance of young talent in the U20s and will work alongside Joel Greig.

Potter said he was happy with his coaching staff and the formation of the Wests Tigers NSW Cup was a positive move. He added Fletcher was the right man to handle the transition of players coming into and out of the squad.

Fletch has had a real good track record of managing players and their personalities. He can bring the best out of them, Potter said.

The style of play of the NSW Cup side wont be too dissimilar to the NRL team so players who come into first grade know what to expect from me. It will be beneficial for all involved.
