Brett Hodgson has been named at fullback in Wests Tigers’ Team of 15 Years.

A Campbelltown junior who played for Western Suburbs between 1997 and 1999, Hodgson joining Wests Tigers at the end of the 2003 NRL season following a stint with the Parramatta Eels between 2000 and 2003.

He made his debut for the Club in Round 1, 2004 against the Cronulla Sharks, and quickly followed that up with an impressive 2005 season that culminated in Wests Tigers’ maiden premiership victory over the North Queensland Cowboys.

Hodgson was awarded the Dally M’s Fullback of the Year that year, and broke Joel Caine’s individual season points-scoring record.

His 308 points in 2005 remain the most ever scored by a fullback in a single season.

The following year, Hodgson was named captain of the Club, and would lead the team from 2006 to his eventual departure in 2008, when he moved to England to play for Huddersfield (2009-10) and Warrington (2011-13).

The diminutive fullback played a total of 102 first-grade games for Wests Tigers between 2004 and 2008 — scoring 38 tries and 317 points.
