Josh Drinkwater has been awarded Wests Tigers’ NSW Cup Coaches Player of the Year, while Kurtis Rowe has been voted by his teammates as Wests Tigers’ NSW Cup Player’s Player of the Year at the Club’s annual Grand Final Luncheon today.
Both Drinkwater and Rowe featured heavily in Wests Tigers’ NSW Cup season in 2015, as the Club narrowly missed out on a finals finish with a number of close defeats.
After joining Wests Tigers from the London Broncos at the start of the 2015, Drinkwater quickly settled at his new club and put together a strong season that featured 124 points — comprised of four tries, two field goals and 53 goals. The halfback registered a team-high 22 try-assists in the year, while also going on to make his Club NRL debut in Round 17 against the Parramatta Eels, chalking up a try-assist in his side’s 28-16 defeat at ANZ Stadium.
Building off a solid 2014 season that saw him make his first-grade debut, Rowe showed again the try-scoring form that saw him cross the line 38 times in his first two seasons with the Club by crossing for a team-high 20 tries in 21 NSW Cup matches in 2015.
Wests Tigers congratulate Josh and Kurtis on their respective NSW Cup awards in 2015.
