Wests Tigers Interim Coach Andrew Webster and captain Aaron Woods spoke to the media following the team's 22-14 loss to the Melbourne Storm on Sunday.

Speaking about the first half, Webster said he was proud of his team's effort.

“We were excellent, playing with plenty of energy,” he said.

“We were playing together and I'm proud of the boys'effort.”

With Joel Edwards having to come off due to a knock to the head just on half time and Luke Brooks hamstring in the second half, Webster spoke about of how he managed it.

“I think we lost energy a little bit with fresh bodies on the field but the boys didn’t stop trying one little bit," he said.

“The way they came in today and handled themselves has been fantastic.

“The mood in the changeroom had me focused and relaxed.

“I feel gutted for them today because they deserved more.

“They put a lot into it but we’re not making excuses — we can do a lot better."

Captain Aaron Woods spoke of the missed opportunities throughout the game.

“We played with a lot of energy early on, but it's the little things like before half time with the obstruction that really cost us," he said. “We're not taking opportunities when we get them.

"It's important how we’ll react next week, when we’ll need to work hard for each other.”
