Wests Tigers School to Work participant Dokota Simonds received special recognition at the recent My Gateway awards.
Dokota, who is currently working with Wollondilly Council as an Events Management Trainee, was nominated for Indigenous Trainee of the Year as a part of the My Gateway Awards.
Dokota was successful in her nomination for Indigenous Trainee of the Year and then went on to win the overall My Gateway Trainee of the Year in a hotly contested field.
This was great recognition for the hard work that Dokota has put in to her traineeship, and also as a part of the NRL's School to Work program.
Earlier this year Dokota was heavily involved in Wests Tigers' recent Reconciliation Action Plan Launch event.
