Wests Tigers have received a boost ahead of their clash against the Canberra Raiders on Sunday with Life Member Benji Marshall named for the must-win match.

Marshall picked up a calf injury in the second half of his side's win over the Knights last weekend, with Coach Ivan Cleary declaring post-match  that he was hopeful of the five-eighth playing this week.

With an extended turnaround, Marshall has been named for Sunday's game as Wests Tigers look to keep their finals hopes alive and close the gap on the three teams sitting four points above them on the ladder.

In other key team news for the side, Malakai Watene-Zelezniak returns on the left wing with Corey Thompson suffering a season-ending ankle injury in the Round 21 victory while Mahe Fonua may come in to calculations after being named amongst the reserves. Fonua has not played since breaking his arm against Canberra when they met back in Round 15 but is getting close to making his return from injury.

Fonua joins Jacob Liddle, Chris McQueen and Tyson Gamble among the reserves for Sunday's game with Robbie Rochow returning to the bench alongside Sauaso Sue, Robbie Rochow and Matt Eisenhuth.

Russell Packer will formally captain the team while Moses Mbye will play his 100th NRL game.

For the Raiders, Coach Ricky Stuart has named an unchanged lineup from the one that went down to Penrith in dramatic circumstances last week with Blake Austin continuing at centre outside Brad Abbey.

Nick Cotric remains at fullback with Jack Wighton (suspended) and Jarrod Croker (injured) unavailable.
