Wests Tigers Results: Round 18

It was another tough weekend of results for Wests Tigers in Round 18 as the club's NRL and Jersey Flegg sides tasted defeat while the Canterbury Cup boys were held to a 24-24 draw.

There was some joy on Saturday, however, with the Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership side winning their Elimination Final over Wentworthville to keep their season alive with another sudden-death match next weekend at Leichhardt Oval.

The win marked a fantastic milestone for the club, with the fixture the first finals match ever played by the club in the Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership.

Michael Maguire's NRL side showed moments of promise against the in-form Canberra Raiders at GIO Stadium but a slow start proved costly in the end — leaving them needing to beat the Knights this week to keep their finals hopes alive.

In Canterbury Cup, it was a case of deja vu for the Magpies, who played out a draw with the St. George-Illawarra Dragons — leaving them also on the edge of the top eight with five consecutive away matches coming up to end the regular season.

Dropping two wins outside the top eight off the back of the result, Wests Tigers now face a crucial clash next Friday to take on the Newcastle Knights in a match that will also feature as Life Member Robbie Farah's 300th NRL appearance.
