Wests Tigers women downed by strong Sharks side

Wests Tigers Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership side have gone down 16-4 to a strong Cronulla Sharks side this weekend at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

The result leaves Wests Tigers still in the hunt for finals footy, and determined to bounce back with two home games remaining in the regular season.

The visitors opened the scoring early on and didn't look back, with Zali Fay, Jamie Chapman and Jamie-Anne Wright all scoring in the first half.

Tia Cook hit back for Wests Tigers to reduce the lead somewhat at the break, but it wasn't enough to spark a second half comeback as Kiana Takairangi crossed late to ensure the visitors would walk away with the two points.

Wests Tigers will look to bounce back next Monday night when they take on the last-placed Wentworthville Magpies at the NSWRL Centre of Excellence.
