Brett Hodgson to depart Wests Tigers coaching staff

Wests Tigers have today confirmed that Brett Hodgson will depart the club’s coaching staff to take up a head coaching role with Hull FC, effective immediately.

Having returned to the club at the start of the 2018 season, Hodgson has filled numerous roles within the football department, having served as an NRL Assistant Coach, Intrust Super Premiership and Canterbury Cup Head Coach, and most recently as Pathways Head Coach.

Hodgson also famously played for Western Suburbs Magpies from 1997 to 1999 and Wests Tigers from 2004 to 2008 — helping clinch the club’s maiden Premiership victory — and was inducted as a Life Member of Wests Tigers in 2015.

Wests Tigers General Manager – Football, Adam Hartigan, thanked Hodgson for his tremendous service to the club.

“On behalf of our football department, players and administration, I’d like to thank Brett for all that he has given to the club since returning in 2018,” Hartigan said.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for him to move closer to his family and take up a more senior coaching role.

“Brett will always remain a big part of Wests Tigers and we wish him and his family all the best for the future.”
