Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that talented forward Zane Musgrove has signed a new playing contract with the club.

The new, three-year deal will see the 24-year-old remain in Wests Tigers colours until at least the end of the 2024 NRL season.

A Mangere East junior, Musgrove made his first-grade debut in 2016 for the South Sydney Rabbitohs — playing 27 appearances across three seasons — before linking up with Wests Tigers.

Having made his representative debut for Samoa in 2017, the powerful prop would make his club debut in Round 1 of the 2020 season and went on to play a total of six games throughout the year after overcoming a foot injury.

Musgrove said he was determined to repay the faith shown in him by the club and expressed his excitement to continue to play in Wests Tigers colours.

“I’m really happy to re-sign — I feel at home with Wests Tigers,” Musgrove said.

“I feel like such a big part of this club and really want to build this to something special.

I love the players and everyone here and love the direction that we’re going in.

“I also feel really thankful to Madge and the club for sticking by me,” he said. “That was a big part of me staying and I can’t wait to get on the field and contribute to this club again.”

Wests Tigers Coach Michael Maguire congratulated Zane on his new deal.

“I’m really happy to see Zane re-sign with the club for another three years,” Maguire said.

“I know how hard Zane has had to work to get to this point in his career and I have no doubt that his best football is still ahead of him. Zane’s presence and leadership around the organisation has grown a lot in the past few years, and he has a tremendous hunger to be successful in all that he does — constantly raising the standards of himself and those around him.

“He is a player with a great work ethic who adds a lot to our side overall and I’m looking forward to watching him develop for many years to come.”

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said he was delighted to see Zane remain with the club.

“As a club, we’re extremely proud to see Zane commit his future to Wests Tigers,” he said.

“This was an extremely competitive playing market for a talented forward with his best football still ahead of him. His commitment to the future of Wests Tigers is a great testament to the strong club we are building here and the direction we are going, but also a testament to the character and loyalty of Zane.

“I have no doubt Zane will play a big role in delivering that direction moving forward.”
