Wests Tigers will return to Campbelltown Sports Stadium for the first time in 2022 as the club hosts the New Zealand Warriors in the second game of Multicultural Round.
Wests Tigers will take to the field in their Multicultural Jerseys, designed to honour and celebrate the diverse cultural backgrounds of its players and staff.
NRL Team Announement: Round 3
Both sides will be eager to chalk up their first win of the new season and improve upon disappointing performances in Round 2.
Three Wests Tigers players are set to make their first appearance for the club this season. They will be led by co-captain James Tamou, who was a late omission from Sunday’s clash in Newcastle.
He’ll be joined in the starting lineup by Jacob Liddle, who has recovered from a knee injury sustained in the pre-season. Jake Simpkin will revert to the bench and look to bring attacking spark throughout the game.
After accumulating an impressive 200 running metres against the Knights, Jackson Hastings has received a three-week suspension for a dangerous throw.
Former Australian Schoolboys captain Jock Madden is expected to replace Hastings at five-eighth, but Head Coach Michael Maguire may also call upon the experience of utility Tyrone Peachey.
Due to the short turnaround between matches, Kelma Tuilagi has not cleared the league’s concussion protocols and will be replaced by Luke Garner in the second row.
For the Warriors, skipper Addin Fonua-Blake has been named despite suffering a hand injury against the Titans in Round 2. Ashley Taylor has dropped out of the starting squad, with Kodi Nikorima claiming his spot in the halves.
Wests Tigers will be hoping to continue their strong form against the Warriors at Campbelltown, having won the last four encounters between the clubs at the venue by an average margin of over 28 points.

Two weeks after conceding fifty points against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Wests Tigers looked to turn their fortunes around against the Warriors in Campbelltown.
An early try to Beau Ryan was cancelled out by Warriors five-eighth Joel Moon, who scored underneath the posts to give the visitors a two-point lead.
However, the Warriors would fail to register another point as the home side embarked on an attacking onslaught, which started with tries to Lote Tuqiri and Robbie Farah.
Centre Geoff Daniela continued the momentum in the second half, topping off a career night with three consecutive tries in just twelve minutes.
Late four-pointers to Chris Lawrence, Lote Tuqiri and Mark Flanagan placed the cherry on top of a dominant performance as the joint-venture reached fifty points for the second time at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
