Tess Staines’ path to the NRLW began playing League Tag in NSW country town, Leeton. The Wagga Wagga-born winger gained selected for NSW Country senior team in 2019 while still a teenager. Staines’ pace and clinical tackling techniques – which she practiced on her four brothers – saw her land a spot in Parramatta Eels NRLW squad in 2022. She was also a key member of Wests Tigers premiership-winning HNW team in the same year, and made her NRLW debut for the club in 2023. Tess is signed to Wests Tigers until the end of the 2024 season.
