Wests Tigers and Campbelltown Advertiser Newspaper are again proud to bring you the weekly player 'Tiger Talk' column for 2013.

Centre Chris Lawrence put pen to paper this week to talk about the win over Penrith and themuch anticipated clash against Parramatta at Leichhardt Oval tonight.

TIGER TALK

It wont go down as one of our most memorable wins but two points is still two points.

Sunday afternoons win over Penrith at Campbelltown Sports Stadium was a very important one especially after our loss to Newcastle in the opening round. Our performance against the Knights was totally unacceptable and we, the players, were very disappointed especially after how hard we trained for the past four months.

In what was a short turnaround from the Knights game to the Panthers match, we really got stuck into each other at training last Thursday. Coach Mick Potter wanted us to work hard on our defence and we did that. There was no ball work, just plenty of tackling and working on our defensive techniques.

It felt good and we took plenty of confidence out of it as well as our final session last Saturday morning. We knew we had to win and were pumped up to perform especially in front of our home supporters.

Although the crowd was slightly smaller than what we hoped for, I just like to thank those supporters who came out to Campbelltown Sports Stadium and got behind us. As a proud Campbelltown boy, I love playing at the stadium. It was a wonderful day too weather wise and with three matches on, Im sure those who did attend got their moneys worth.

Hopefully we will see more Wests Tigers supporters at our next home game at Campbelltown Sports Stadium against the Brisbane Broncos on Saturday, April 27.

The only sad point from the win was the pectoral tear suffered by our hard working prop Keith Galloway. Sauce is the leader of our forward pack and he looks likely to be out for 3-4 months. Knowing Keith, he will train hard in rehab to do everything he can to get back as soon as possible.

Moving forward, we face another big test this Friday night at historic Leichhardt Oval when we take on the Parramatta Eels. It is the first time in 11 years that Wests Tigers have played Parramatta at Leichhardt Oval. Tickets are still available but I encourage our supporters to get in quick and snap them up as a large crowd is expected. Besides, we dont want to be outnumbered by the Eels army on our home soil. Im sure we wont.

It is going to be a big night with plenty of entertainment. We will be wearing special black jerseys promoting the home entertainment release of the James Bond film, Skyfall, on Blu-Ray and DVD. The jersey looks terrific and being a James Bond fan, Im excited by the promotion.

Like Bond himself, I hope we can come out a winner on the night.
