Wests Tigers Coach Jason Taylor said he was pleased with his team's performance on Saturday night as his side earned a 30-30 draw against the Cronulla Sharks.

With Taylor saying pre-game that the side would be "as close as possible" to the one that takes the field in a fortnight for the Club's Round 1 clash against the Warriors, the second-year Wests Tigers Coach said there were plenty of positive signs to come from Saturday's result, with Wests Tigers fighting back from 30-16 down in the second half to draw 30-30.

"There was plenty to like about what we did tonight," Taylor said post-match.

"There were some lapses in there that were a bit disappointing, and some lapses that neither team would like to have in Round 1, but it wasn't Round 1, I guess!

"We conceded 30 points tonight, so it's clear that we want to improve that.

"One of the biggest thing for us tonight was to get the guys ready to play at the level that we're going to want them to play at in Round 1. There's eight interchange in Round 1 and if it's a hot day, it's going to ask some questions of the guys, so we need them to be ready."

Taylor also spoke highly of new recruits Tim Grant, Jack Littlejohn and Josh Aloiai, who all impressed in their second trial match as they push for their Club debuts in Round 1.
