While playing down his own form so far in 2018, Wests Tigers halfback Luke Brooks says his confidence is simply coming from the success in the side this year.
Currently on top of the 2018 Dally M Leaderboard after six weeks of footy, Brooks opened up on the enjoyment he was having in his form, but emphatically praised his teammates and their willingness to play for each other in both attack and defence as the key behind his red hot start to the year.
“We’ve won a lot of our games at the start of the year through defence," Brooks said.
"For a team that wasn't known for being great at defence, that's a really pleasing sign.
"Attacking wise it was good to score some points on the weekend and it felt really good out there.
“Everyone in the team knows their role and everyone is doing their job that brings confidence.
"Confidence is a big thing."
"I think having Benji there has really helped me," he added. "His experience, game management and kicking takes a bit of pressure off me. He's a really mature player.
"He's not only helped me but really helped the team. He was definitely one of my idols growing up. I still have to pinch myself when I get to run out alongside him."
