Wests Tigers celebrated Youth Week this April hosting an event for local Camden schools at Mt Annan Leisure Centre.

Youth Week is a week-long celebration held in early April each year, that is organised by young people, for young people, in communities across NSW.

Wests Tigers Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership players Rebecca Pollard and Sarah Boyle joined the Wests Tigers Foundation in conducting the Active Life Event and helped to enrich the lives of youth in the South West/Camden region.

Speaking ahead of the upcoming NSW Women’s Premiership season kick-off, Pollard was enthusiastic about the role Youth Week can play in supporting young people.

“It’s such good education, not just in terms of being an athlete but just in general life”, she explained.

I feel like there’s a growing culture around living healthy at the moment which is awesome.

Rebecca Pollard

“I was really blown away with some of the kids' responses and what they came up with”.

Wests Tigers Foundation’s key focus on youth development was recognised, with the Active Life Event providing a platform for youth across multiple participating schools across the local area surrounding Mt Annan and Camden.

The event allowed students to share their experiences as young people with adults, as well as equipping them with advice on how to establish and maintain healthy and active lifestyles in their community.
