Junior clubs here we come

Wests Tigers players are heading out to junior rugby league clubs over the next fortnight in preparation for the club's annual Junior League Appreciation Round.

The club will be using its next home game against St George Illawarra Dragons to acknowledge, celebrate and thank the thousands of players and volunteers within Wests Tigers Junior Rugby League Districts.

Every NRL player will be involved with the junior footy activation over the next two weeks, some visiting local clubs in the Balmain District, and others attending the Macarthur region’s Junior Rugby League Grand Final Day.

Wests Tigers Community Manager, Keehan Diamond, says it's great to have players back out at junior clubs clubs after a Covid-enforced layoff.

I know from experience that having NRL players come out to your club is really inspiring."

I remember meeting my heroes as a child, and those memories have stayed with me for a long time.”

The players also enjoy getting out and having fun with the younger guys and girls. It’s powerful community engagement."

We are so lucky to have thousands of mums and dads, brothers and sisters, uncles and aunts who volunteer so much of their time every season."

Junior rugby league just couldn’t survive without them."
