Pathways Preview: Round 5

Fresh off their outstanding win over the ladder-leading Mounties in Round 4, Wests Tigers’ NSW Women’s Premiership side faces a five-day turnaround when they take on the Central Coast Roosters on Saturday afternoon.

Looking to maintain their place in the competition’s top four, another tight contest looks likely, with the Roosters also sitting on 6 points for the season.

Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale Cup (U/19s)

The Tarsha Gale Cup team will be looking to stay in the hunt for a finals position with a win over the Panthers at BlueBet Stadium this Saturday.

Despite a tough start to the season, the likes of Tiana-Lee Thorne and recent Women’s Premiership debutant Jae Patu have shone and will aim to inspire the away side to victory in Round 5.

UNE SG Ball Cup (U/19s) - Western Suburbs

Western Suburbs’ SG Ball side takes on the undefeated Panthers this weekend, with the Magpies looking to move into the top four with a win.

After last weekend’s loss to the ladder-leading Raiders, Wests will be up for the task against what will likely be an equally strong opponent.

UNE SG Ball Cup (U/19s) - Balmain

With two consecutive victories under their belt, Balmain’s SG Ball Cup team will be aiming to extend its run of good form with a win over the Sydney Roosters, this Saturday morning.

Jonathan Ibrahim moves from lock to halfback for this contest, with skipper Josh Feledy also set to be a major factor after his match-winning flick pass effort against the Bulldogs in Round 4.

UNE Harold Matthews Cup (U/17s) - Western Suburbs

It’s 4th vs. 5th this weekend, with the Magpies and Panthers Harold Matthews Cup side’s sitting on equal competition points heading into Saturday morning’s fixture.

The Magpies will be boosted by the inclusion of some key returnees this week, with Heamasi Makasini and Dylan Smith coming back into the side.

Magpies winger Ali Karnib is currently the competition’s equal leading try-scorer, with six tries in four games to start the season.

UNE Harold Matthews Cup (U/17s) - Balmain

In what should be another enthralling contest this weekend, the 9th placed Tigers take on the 10th placed Sydney Roosters in the Harold Matthews Cup.

Look out for the battle of the halfbacks in this one, with both skippers Alex Conti and Toby Rodwell in good form to start the season.

SLE Laurie Daley Cup (U/18s) - Macarthur Wests

In their final game of the regular season, Macarthur Wests Tigers’ Laurie Daley Cup outfit need a win to ensure they play in the Grand Final qualifier next weekend.

After two big victories in recent weeks, they take on Illawarra South Coast at their home ground of Kirkham Oval, Camden.

SLE Andrew Johns Cup (U/16s) - Macarthur Wests

With one regular season game left before finals next weekend, the undefeated Macarthur Wests Andrew Johns Cup side will be aiming to build confidence heading into their grand final qualifier.

The addition of damaging centre Glassie Glassie to the side will give the Tigers hope that they can end their regular season with a perfect record.
