Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership

It was another tight loss for Wests Tigers’ NSW Women’s Premiership side, with a strong Bulldogs outfit running them down in the second half.

Najvada George and Josie Lenaz crossed for four-pointers and the home side took a 10-6 lead into the break, however they weren’t able to overcome a fast-finishing Dogs team.

Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale Cup (U/19s)

A young Wests Tigers Tarsha Gale Cup team couldn’t overcome the undefeated Bulldogs on Saturday, despite a valiant first-half effort in which they led early in the game.

When Iemaima Etuale and Ashanti Pennell scored to put the Tigers ahead, it looked as if an upset was on the cards, but the Jae Patu-led side were outclassed in the second half.

UNE SG Ball Cup (U/19s) - Western Suburbs

Tallyn Da Silva’s double wasn’t enough for Wests to come away with the victory on Saturday against the Bulldogs.

After initially leaving the game with a head knock, Da Silva returned to the field to score his sixth and seventh tries of the season, an incredible effort from a hooker who has played just six SG Ball Cup games to date.

UNE SG Ball Cup (U/19s) - Balmain

A depleted Balmain side managed to re-enter the winning circle on Saturday, with a Brenden Naicori hat-trick helping them to a narrow win over South Sydney.

Fullback Cameron Canaan was again impressive in the Tigers’ victory, as were the halves pairing of Levi Conti and Jonathan Ibrahim.

Well done to the Balmain U/19s on bouncing back after suffering a heavy defeat the week prior.

UNE Harold Matthews Cup (U/17s) - Western Suburbs

It was another narrow defeat for Wests in the Harold Matthews Cup, with the Magpies unable to snatch a late victory.

Byronn Laupepa and Luke Laulilii both crossed for four-pointers, while Sonny Edwards-Moeke and Cooper Clarke were impactful off the interchange bench.

UNE Harold Matthews Cup (U/17s) - Balmain

Balmain’s Harold Matthews Cup team fell to a 22-10 defeat on Saturday, with the Alex Conti-led side unable to overcome a 10-point half-time deficit.

Edwin Langi and Jonah Watson both scored their second tries of the season respectively, with Langi and fellow prop forward Dougie Tuala consistently being two of the side’s best performers.

SLE Andrew Johns Cup (U/16s) - Macarthur Wests

In a tough afternoon for Macarthur Wests’ Andrew Johns Cup side, they were eliminated from the competition in their Grand Final qualifier on Saturday afternoon.

A double to damaging centre Glassie Glassie wasn’t enough to will the away side to victory, as a terrific season from this entirely new group unfortunately comes to an end.

Congratulations boys, on a great 2023 campaign.

Lisa Fiaola Cup (U/17s)

Wests Tigers’ Lisa Fiaola Cup group wasn’t able to replicate its victorious season-opening performance against Manly, falling to the Bulldogs 42-14.

Grace O’Reilly, Sharron Tapuai and Ellie Barnett all scored four-pointers for this young group.
