Jade Fonua joined Wests Tigers ahead of the 2025 NRLW season, bringing international experience and a strong presence to the forward pack.
The 28-year-old Liverpool local, who began her rugby league career later in life, previously played 14 NRLW matches for the Parramatta Eels across the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Fonua has represented Tonga at the international level and is proud to honor her Samoan and Tongan heritage through her performances.
Known for her toughness and ball-playing ability as a middle forward, she is set to make her club debut at lock in Round 1 of the 2025 season against the Brisbane Broncos.
Fonua is committed to leading by example and contributing to the team's culture, stating, “I definitely hope that I can lead by my actions… I’m really excited to keep building a bond with them this season.”
