Wests Tigers rookie Manaia Cherrington has been called into the New Zealand squad for their upcoming three-Test series against England in the United Kingdom.

Cherrington was brought into the side as a late replacement for North Queensland Cowboys forward Jason Taumalalo, who pulled out of the 23-man squad this weekend.

Cherrington has previously featured on two tours for the Junior New Zealand Kiwis in 2013 and 2014, and will join teammate Martin Taupau in the squad, with the forward earning his third Test selection following his international debut in the 2014 ANZAC Test.

England are yet to name their squad for the series which begins on November 1.

New Zealand will take on Leeds Rhinos on October 23 (local time), before opening the series against England at the KC Stadium in Hull on Sunday, November 1 (local time).

Game II will take place at the Olympic Stadium in London on Saturday, November 7, before the series wraps up at the DW Stadium in Wigan on Saturday, November 14.

New Zealand have won six of their last eight games against England dating back to 2000, including a memorable 20-18 win at the 2013 Rugby League World Cup on British soil.
